The world in isolation / Netflix registers 16 million new subscribers

-Netflix has seen the number of registrants rise this year as isolation around the world is keeping people at home, and they want to pass the time.

About 16 million people were registered in the first three months of the year, the company said. The number is almost double the recordings seen in the last months of 2019.

However, the streaming streaming service, which is behind the multi-million dollar productions, said the isolation has meanwhile stopped almost all filming, anywhere in the world. And a significant drop in the value of many currencies has meant that new registrations outside the United States, where Netflix is headquartered, do not apply to the company as much as before the crisis. And that has affected Netflix's revenue from abroad.

Shares of the home entertainment giant, however, have risen more than 30 percent this year as investors are convinced Netflix will know how to take advantage of people spending time at home. The company is however facing increasing competition from other rivals such as Disney plus and Amazon prime, which have extensive content archives to attract new subscribers. A new streaming service, quibi, has spent billions to stream content with Hollywood stars. Later this year both HBO max and NBC Universal will launch peacock in the US. In the world of streaming, content is everything, and more rivals would make netflix review itself.
